Where do they differ? What separates them? Are taxes really so different 
from tithes? They'd like us t think so.

If appearing separate, they are still twin siblings. Born of the same 
ignorance. One appears as a 'necessary' evil - the other appears as a 
necessary 'good' to counter it - both doing so by keeping people in line.

Each may at times appear to embrace or reject the other, thus 
reinforcing belief in them being apart. This way, they are either both 
seen to help people, or one is seen as protecting people from 
tyrant/oppression of the other. How convenient for the status quo! *L*
