where is edgar????? help!!!!!!!!! we are standing on the earth bill!!!!!!!!! this is reality! where are you standing? on a cloud? merle
Merle, First of all the concept of 'attachments' is one of the most important concepts in Buddhism. The core of Siddhartha's teachings (as is mythologized in Buddhist dogma) is expressed in the Four Noble Truths: The Four Noble Truths 1. Life means suffering. 2. The origin of suffering is attachment. 3. The cessation of suffering is attainable. 4. The path to the cessation of suffering. You can hardly have a real discussion about Zen Buddhism (the topic of this forum)without bringing up 'attachments'. Secondly from what I've gleaned from your posts it's not the earth you're attached to, it's your human-centric and egocentric ideal of what the earth should be that you're attached to. ...Bill! --- In [email protected], Merle Lester <merlewiitpom@...> wrote: > > > > Â i agree with you joe.. > when bill !!!!!!! squeals attachment one feels guilty as all hell.. > > however bill!!!!! is attached to this mantra of squealing ATTACHMENT..at > every turn... > > we are "attached to the earth"...how does that ride with his > squealing...?...merle > > Â > Joe, > > I appreciate your criticism and think it is well-noted, but 'skillful means' > is an art, not a science.
