Joe,

You need to understand what a koan really is. A koan is not some clever words 
on a page in a zen book. A koan is an intellectual mystery whose solution leads 
you to a true understanding of the reality beyond.

Reality itself as it manifests in the world of forms is THE ULTIMATE 
intellectual mystery. And thus the ultimate koan..

Solve it and you encounter reality...
