You'll then be following on in a great tradition:
Every (US) Thanksgiving, the President ceremonially "pardons" (!) a live turkey
at the White House. No cook-pot for THAT bird! And no bird for somebody's pot
who otherwise might have eaten that Tom Turkey. The Tom gets to retire to a
farm and live out all the years of its life, more or less naturally, not
punctuated by an ax.
Of course, if the bird WAS to have been sold, and consumed in late-November, it
should have been in the "Butter-Ball" brand wrapper months earlier.
I hope your Campaign will not be badly affected by the effects of the East
Coast hurricane, "Sandy", to make land-fall at Edgar's place on Monday.
