Merle,

We are ONE with all beings.

Any time we shake the spider web -- or the Jeweled Net of Indra -- beings get
the message, even if they do not know it. If they are AWAKE, they get it.
There is no way to hide our perturbations of the net. Prayer is unnecessary,
and has essentially *already happened*.
By the time we think of prayer, word is already OUT. THAT'S what I'm getting
at.

A person with no mind, and hence no motion of mind, does NOT shake the net.

See this in tons of Zen stories about the records of various masters, or much
better yet, discover it from within your very own, most personal, practice,
...which is OUR practice, you know.

My teacher was right, Merle!

You're right to pray. It's just unnecessary. It's reopening the barn door
after the Colt has already bolted. Rest assured.
