Edgar, RAF,

Examples are weak and unreliable, and easy to misinterpret, and never
interpreted the way you think they are. The fact that one thinks anybody at
all is watching is proof of ego. By such means instead, all hands are lost.

This is called:

"The Man Selling Water by the River Dies of Thirst."

No, the way to be in harmony with beings is to awaken. In the awakened state,
wisdom and compassion arise spontaneously. One acts appropriately as
situations arise, just in accord with causes and conditions. The compassion
that arises ensures that actions are helpful to beings, and appropriate.

The "saving" occurs the instant we awaken. Continued life in the awakened
state will be harmonious with beings.

Strong practice is actually and really the key.

I won't say "literally". ;-)
