Siska, Edgar, Bill!,
We experience it by experiencing it.
Edgar's digital and information machinations are reminiscent of "Christian
Apologetics": An approach by "reason" and argument toward an experience or
faith, for which there is no rational substitute. In other words, just WORDS!
Now, Apologetics serves a purpose in the Christian faith, which is a "faith",
after all.
But for actual practitioners of mystical paths, and of Ch'an and Zen,
Apologetics has only slight, and not central place, simply because it is an
academic and philosophical accretion, and not a fundamental part of practice
and realization throughout a practitioner's lifetime and career as a
Bodhisattva.
Apologetics is once-, or twice-removed from immediate experience (of, say,
Buddha Nature).
Some parts of Apologetics are entertaining, though, and are good for that
purpose, and serve that function.
A diet of that is empty calories, though, and those who try so dismally
unwisely to subsist on it are, as we know, the walking-dead (Condolences;
sandals on my head). ;=|
With Regards,
--Joe
