Bill!,
Oh, yes. Always. Yeah, yerright.
And, BTW, some writing of a young new author, especially, has my immediate
(next) attention. I think it's the fellow's first novel. The old masters have
grabbed my eyelashes, though, but, in a few more days, I'll need a respite.
Not just to stare into space -- as an Astronomer is wont to do, mind you! --
but to read the fine musings of a new dude. Well, a new dude with a lot of
experience. Not that new. But a new voice. Congenial! Funny you should ask.
I'll tell you about his stuff. I bet you'll be interested! And, if you
already are, why, I won't keep you hanging. Too long. I hope those curious,
too-patient, toes are touching the ground. Sometimes I wonder why I'm such a
sluggard.
Also just rec'd Vasari's LIVES OF THE ARTISTS. Diving and snorkeling into the
past "like" it "was" tomorrow! I wonder if Merle has read Vasari. She needs
no snorkel and probably lives and breathes him. Dunno.
With Friendly greetings, and felicitations,
