I dunno, I just have the sense that animals live close to their true nature.
They have no self to act as a "screen" to experience, and have no screen
against their deepest and most ancient species instinct(s).
We're the same way, when we slough off the heavy rubber overcoat.
I've seen none of zombie or werewolf movies, I don't think. Led a sheltered
life, maybe. Not too drawn to the macabre; there's the Natural, always
knocking.
