Merle,

I became a vegetarian 20 years ago. If you care to go back into
the archives on this forum you'll see how I argued against the eating of meat.
Since then I've mellowed from those views in so far as its up to the individual
to choose. Killing an animal is different from eating what is offered to you
*although* by choosing to eat it you indirectly cause another to do the killing
and this is something that has to be considered. I've since recently
reintroduced meat into my diet, but plan on returning to a vegetarian diet
soon. On all vipassana retreats the food served is vegetarian and vegetarianism
is encouraged, but not enforced.

So, I take it you give thanks for
every bite of meat that you partake. Yes? Know any other animal that does that?
Since you tried to make a point, what's your take on a woman's right to choose
regarding abortion?

Mike

Sent from Yahoo! Mail for iPad
