I, too, have enjoyed our conversation.  Watch out for Gdel's Theorem, though.  It is much abused, and really doesn't communicate clearly to anyone other than mathematicians, philosophers, and physicists.  An unlikely group if you're looking for "normal" (what the hey is that?) people.
Be well, and much as I hate to say this, hear Fudo when he says, "the oak tree in the yard."

Kathleen,
It seems we agree that mediation is a raft that could bring us closer... and perhaps even further away depending on how it is used.
We also seem to agree that It is not inherently closer, by definition.  For me Godel's theorem has been the most easily communicable raft -- but I am not always communicating with "normal" people.

Thanks for the exchange.

Thus, my question, "Is practice caused or uncaused?" lies helpless and as Al pointed out once, like an orphan... I am forced to cannibilize my own thoughts... perhaps they will eat themselves from out of food and finally die.

Or, if history proves consistent, my thoughts will resort to being farmers and use the dying thoughts as fertilizer to grow ever persistent strains of crop to also be used as future sources of fertilizer...
