I don't think anyone argued here that they are separate. It's like saying: "it is better to drink clean water than it is to drink dirty water." Someone may object to that by saying that they are not separate, and, besides, it's just a matter of convention. Who's to say when does clean water stop and dirty water begin? Nevertheless, we all unmistakeably know that clean water is preferable. One does not have to take an advanced course in philosophy and spiritual studies in order to be able to reach such conclusion. Yes, it is possible to demonstrate that they are not separate, but so what? They are not separate, but they are also not not-separate. Otherwise, it would be impossible to talk about them. In Buddhist terms, it is more desirable to be enlightened than it is to act as if one is enlightened. In other words, while one can be right for the wrong reasons, it is still advisable to strive to be right for the right reasons.
