I have no idea what you mean by this question... I belong to a sangha whose teacher is a woman... my best guess (I've never done a formal count) is that at LEAST 1/2 of the sangha is female. Another sangha nearby also has a woman teacher & a mixed crowd of regulars. Yet another large sangha nearby (Fire Lotus Temple in Brooklyn, which is associated with Zen Mountain Monastery / MRO), has many senior female monastics & a sensei who is female, & there are many women in the sangha. A better question might be: why does zen mainly attract people... what is it between people & zen? :) - elk ------------------------ Yahoo!
