Anyone who acts as his own Zen master has a fool for a student. This is why one should not ask such questions on an email list...any idiot feels qualified to answer....whether they are qualified or not. Some people feel they have more of an inclination towards masturbation than to sex with another person....I would not turn to such a one for answers on how to satisfying sex life with a partner.....In these times it obviously would not stop them from offering advice. Meditation performed alone is to Zen as masturbation is to reproduction. This is a Zen list...last time I looked. Perhaps just an occasional nod to what a real zen practice is as defined by one of the real Zen schools is might be appropriate. Both authentic schools of Zen that have traveled to the west have as a part of their practice practicing with a Sangha and a Master. Any advice to the contrary is just someone's made up idea. Feel free to make up any idea you wish and to follow what ever whim you feel might move you...just do not pretend what advice you offer is in accord with the Dharma as passed down through the authentic schools of Zen.
