Hi Al

The five precepts are basic to all forms of Buddhism.  Abstain from harming 
living beings, stealing, sexual misconduct, lying, and intoxicating drugs 
and drinks.  Seems like a pretty good compass to me.  The interesting thing 
about following this compass is, that it points in a specific direction, 
which is towards the cessation of grasping which is what gives rise to all 
forms of immoral behavior.
