Hi Genryu, My sitting is something I am always reluctant to do when I start, reluctant to finish when I end it. When I think to myself, "You should sit more, your mind is so busy grasping you're missing everything -- you need better practice, training."
I often answer, "first, either sit now, or keep washing dishes and let those sorts of regiment planning, new-years-resolution-taking illusions go." "second, (since the idea reoccurs frequently) I think -- why do it sitting, when I can let go right now while doing dishes. I'd rather plan sitting than wash dishes in its own simplicity. Shut up mind, and let go!" So I haven't a source to make a periodically regular practice of sitting. My tendency to it vacillates as wildly as anything else. Any suggestions? That's my favorite time, plus any that I can get in during the day (there are children here so that's another aspect of practice with it's own schedule and demands), and evenings with the sitting group that I teach (and by teach - I mean the basics of Zen practice and meditation). What works best for you? Right after waking up? Before breakfast? Before getting dressed for work? Do you time the zazen?
