If breathing "correctly" is all it took to acheive satori, there would be alot of enlightened heavy breathers in the world. Although certain postures, states of mind, or activities may help me be more open to enlightened experience, the minute I believe they are the goal and not just tools for the journey...then I am mountains and rivers away from truth. If the breathing exercises help you experience the truth of your own True Self, let them help you. If they are a burden that entraps you, they are as valuable as a heap of dung.
