Just to let you know, I went ahead and did the upgrade today and https did break. However I was able to re-do the steps you provided and https works again. However one very strange thing is do not do the last step of generating your own self signed cert because for some reason, that broke! If you don't believe me then go ahead and let me know how to manage to fix it.
