This is for Juhi and Vivek. On reading Juhi's poems, I was about to say just what I discovered was contraray to Vivek Narayanan's view. Vivek's iambs and trochees are hardly the tools we might apply to Indian vrse in English, unless we are sure there is a conscious effort to use English metrics and prosody by the non-English writer. Juhi's 1st line has 9 syllables but Vivekk accounts for only 8; there are other problems , too, but I'll enter my agreement on the word 'murdered' and leave the prosody alone for now. The second poem is nice, but is there a factual error lurking somewhere? For instance, 12 years is a more universally accepted figure than 10, I think. Some facts matter , even in poetry/fiction.
