I enjoyed the metrosexual exhibition. A few of us held an impromptu reading (with wine) of gender poems in the gallery, surrounded by huge paintings, and wound up at Apurva where we read more poems....
I was very interested by the selection of photographs shown at the beginning of the festival, an introduction to the paintings that came later. Shubha Mugdal's recital began lack-luste and only warmed up towards the end - but then, this so often happens. song takes just as long as poetry to get going. I also liked the dance performance. Didn't go to any of the discussions.
I thought it was a good effort by Himanshu. I think he will do even better next time.
The Fourth Floor is a great space for all kinds of events, and in fact Poetry Circle meets there (amid the furniture and the paintings) on the second Friday of the month. Not to be missed. It is always an interesting discussion even if you don't always agree with the sentiment of the poems...mostly subjective. I think subjective poetry might be a sign of the times.
Bender trouble indeed! Though it is true that the festival seemed to have an abnormally large population of gays. The term metrosexual is in danger of becoming synonymous with gay.

interesting...
one can call it "Bender Trouble", perhaps :-)
by the way, what did you think of the recent
Metrosexual exhibition curated by Himanshu Verma at
Kitab Mahal?
cheers,
