Zope 2.4.3 + Python 2.2 is likely to fail, but Zope 2.5.x + Python 2.2 is likely to work on Linux. It's just not officially supported. Zope 2.4.x, 2.5.x, and 2.6.x are designed for Python 2.1.3. Zope 2.7.x will clean up any remaining Python 2.2 compatibility issues.
