Tire time again, been mostly happy in the past with the Goodyears.
The BFG GForce Sport were weaker on traction but have a live steering
feel and wear great.
Have not tried the KDW2 before.
Tire rack rates them as dry traction 9.2, steering response 9.0, and
treadwear 7.9.
The Goodyears are rated the same for dry traction and treadwear, but
less steering response, 8.8.

Opinions please? Not interested in other tires, only between these two pls.
tia,
Barry

Alex,
This risk is why there are so many 'deals' to be had on cars on eBay. They
rarely will sell above wholesale prices. All I can offer is I hope your price
was right on this one.
You have some means through eBay, which you already know about, but otherwise
I'm not sure what legal means are available.

I took the cheap way out to make extensions for my ramps to get the M3
on them.

8 foot long 2x10s supported by 2x10 X braces in several places along the
ramp gave me enough distance to drive up without destroying the splitter.

Cheap and effective, if bulky.

Why not airbags on the trailer?!?

Deflate to lower the trailer and clear the spoilers.

I do something similar by using the electric trailer support wheel on the
nose.
Raising the nose lowers the tail and I get a straight ramp into the trailer.

Save the racecar from the rough ride and save the precious space in the
trailer.

Alex,

As a former Florida dealer, the EXEMPT issue may be something that can't
be gotten around. Many Southern states simply do not list mileage when
the car reaches 10 years of age. Sort of like my M5... it has a "bad"
carfax because it was once given an "Exceeds Mechanical Limits" title,
which MD used to do for ANY car once it hit 100k miles.

Sucks, but it is what it is.

What's the deal with the rest of the car?

Bill, I understand that a title on a vehicle ten years older can be stamped
EXEMPT. However, when this happens, you cannot legally sell the car with
actual mileage. I am selling a 72 Jimmy right now on ebay, I am selling it
with exempt mileage. I can not list the car with actual miles, nor should
the seller of this car have done so. If you sign an odometer actual
certificate here in Indy, you can state mileage as actual no matter what
year the car is. Even if the seller of this car signs an odometer statement,
since the title has it as EXEMPT, there is nothing I can do to sell the car
with actual mileage. As for the rest of the car, he lied in every line of
his description, completely. Car runs great: doesn't run. Car has no rust
anywhere: car has it all over the place. Interior is excellent with no rips
or tears: dash has 6 cracks, seats have cracks, drivers door panel looks
like a dog ate it, has a hole the size of a softball and all wrinkled and
mangled up, rear seatbelt covers are missing, etc, etc. I can go on and on
for an hour.

Alex,

It should have been listed in the listing. I have sold actual mile
vehicles on exempt titles, with the mileage history backed up by
paperwork. Carfax, service records, etc) When you title the car
subsequently in a state that requires mileage (NJ for example) you can
get the actual miles on the title.

For the rest of it.. if it were me, I would hire an attorney.

Since the car came from Alabama, I am wondering if it is one of the "flood
victim" Katrina/Rita cars showing up in various places.

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate situation. Some people just don't have
a conscience it seems.

<FS> 4 Borbet Type T (?) black, 17x8, clean and true. Very light at
19.5 pounds.
Was holding onto these til I needed new tires but now am getting
different wheels too.
Will sell or trade. ask $525. cash.

Also have 4 "Motorsport" 17.7.5 replicas, some rash but all straight and
true (up to at least 142mph) with 225/45x17
Bridgestone RE750, front with 4-5/32, rears with one RE750 at wear bars
and one BFG GForce Sport with very little wear as it was a replacement
for a flat. Better tire overall than the RE750.
Ask $345.

Or will take $750. for all 8 wheels and four tires.

All:

I just wanted to pass this along in case it helps anyone now or down the
road in an archive search.

Last week I had John Anderson of Bavarian Mobile Works
(http://www.bavarianmobileworks.com/index.html) perform a pre-purchase
inspection for me on an E46 sedan in the Roswell/N. Atlanta area. I found
his name highly recommended in other BMW forums and can now add my own
praises to his resume. Although he is willing to do PPIs on-site when cars
cannot be moved, in this case he worked closely with the selling dealer to
get the car to his shop where he charged me a pre-agreed upon two hours
labor for a very thorough inspection. He caught little details (ex: very
slightly defective audio speakers) that I'd have not caught in person and
was enormously helpful, available, and professional throughout. If I lived
in that area, John would be my mechanic.

I never actually was able to visit his shop, but the dealer said it was
packed with BMWs and Porsches and he looked to be staying very busy.

No affiliation beyond being a very happy customer...

Kevin
