IIRC we already have this available, using a geometry shader at very
high shader quality settings.
I don't recall the landclass that uses it,  but I do recall at one
point seeing it in-use just off the side
of KLVK in the past.

Personally, I prefer the look of individual trees, and on my system
the trees are less expensive than a
geometry shader.
