Yes, you can safely leave out To, Message-id, and Received. Consequences are what you'd expect, like the inability to do a message-id search and find that particular message.
You are correct. Posting address is manually assigned during the bulk import process, and automatically determined from headers for regular inbound mail. Think of it as if Mail Archive was trying to put every message in a folder, where the folder name is the posting address. The folder name is indexed, so is available for search. You are exactly correct about the 'l' parameter. This is probably going to work fine, and let's go ahead and give it a try. If it doesn't work, we'll discuss, figure it out, and try again.
