Hi all, Can I get some recommendations on what the modprobe.conf and alternate startup stuff 'should' look like for starting a 350?
In my experience, getting the modules loaded properly accounts for the majority of the problems I have seen on the list - myself especially. The documentation for the ivtv (0.2.x)package does not make a great deal of sense in that the install.txt does not even mention modprobe.conf only that you should modprobe ivtv. This (linked from ivtv Wiki) http://www.mythtvportal.com/tiki-index.php?page=HowtoInstallTheIvtvDrive r Says again just modprobe ivtv and 'maybe' you could put these in modprobe.conf alias char-major-81 videodev alias char-major-81-0 ivtv The QuickSetup in the 3.7a dist says: 1. Add this to your /etc/modprobe.conf file... options saa7127 i2c_enable=-1,-1,-1,-1 options cx25840 i2c_enable=1,1,1,1 no_black_magic=1 options wm8775 mixer=2 options ivtv ivtv_debug=1 tuner=57,57,57,57 In speaking with members of the list, and friends who are using myth/ivtv/pvrxxx boards, I have seen many variations of the modprobe and startup. None of which worked flawlessly for me. No matter whats in my modprobe I eventually need to fiddle with loading and unloading modules after boot. Even then I have a 35% chance of getting the encoder/decoder portions running smoothly. Many thanks to the developers hope this doesn't sound like complaints :) Any thoughts appreciated :) Edward -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tyler Trafford Sent: Tuesday, July 26, 2005 3:48 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ivtv-devel] tveeprom not starting [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > I'm having trouble getting my PVR-150 to work with ivtv... If you installed from source, get rid of those last three lines, rerun depmod -a, and reload ivtv. -- Tyler Trafford ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
