First start with a
sudo depmod -a
Then remove all the relevant modules just to be safe
sudo rmmod -f ivtv wm8775 cx25840 tveeprom tuner Then modprobe these first (just to make sure they don't bomb out)
sudo modprobe tveeprom
sudo modprobe tuner
Finally modprobe ivtv
sudo modprobe ivtv

Make sure you're tuned to a channel too!

If it doesnt't work, then post the dmesg (which is just command, type `dmesg`) and post the relevant part between the IVTV INIT sections. It is just like the syslog except it has debug messages, which don't go to the syslog.
