I don't think net-30 means that you are paid every 30 days. It means you are
paid within 30 days of your invoice. If you submit an invoice every week,
you'll get paid every week. However, you won't get paid until 30 days after
your first invoice.

I would be very carefull about getting paid on terms. Most people I know don't
have the money to sue them if they don't pay after you've given up 30+ days of
free work.

I have worked net 30. I ate a lot of ramen noodles in the first month. A
couple of times, I didn't have my pay by 31 days and I stopped showing up
until they paid. It never got to day 32.

What I've seen so far, I don't think Perl skills are enough any more to demand
the high pay. In 1999-2001, they were. You have to almost have a package of
other tech skills which tend to include Java and PHP or Linux, Apache, MySQL.
