Assuming that each of your apps are in different
machine images, CTC is NOT the way to go on s/390 or
zSeries for Linux. Its  based on an old/slow protocol.
If your machine can handle a QDIO card (OSA express),
that is much superior in both speed and throughput.
Hipersockets (real or virtual) are even better.

Also, TCP/IP over OSAx cards between machines is also
faster than CTC.

With the current technology, Linux people shouldn't
listen to the old hands that insist on using CTC.

(Or if all yours apps are on one machine, you don't
need TCP/IP at all ;-) )
