The framework named "Pylons" will remain 1.x, and will be used and maintained for several years. The part of Pylons that is in the ``pylons`` package is actually pretty small (and has been getting more simplified and smaller in the past few versions), so there's not much to maintain. Most of the bugs that get reported are in the dependency packages.
