Kent,

your constant whining really starts to annoy the hell out of me.
Especially when you take every possible opportunity to tell rubbish
about the way "Sebastian handles the project".

The problem is not that it's simply wrong what you are telling, but that
other observers may get some distorted view of reality. Have you ever
heard something about the little thing called "netiquette"?

To make things clear: This project is released under the LGPL, and every
capable developer is invited to contribute. But this doesn't mean that
we simply stop thinking about what people put into the code base. The
quality of the code and the way it fits with the overall design plan
counts. Making contributions is a little bit more than telling people
what doesn't work and at best coming forward with half-baked patches -
and in any case reiterating the plain wrong over and over again doesn't
help either.

The project is also not "run by Sebastian alone". It's just that he is
the one who is currently the most visible guy on the mailing list. This
doesn't mean that others don't work hard, too.

For all the stuff that has been done, we know that there is still much
to do - but hey - this is OSS. People CAN make a difference by writing
code and engage in technical discussions, they can (and some already do)
help in the documentation aspect of the project. And we will have a wiki
"Real Soon Now(TM)" so this step will be even easier.

But we really have no time to cure the personality problems of self
acclaimed project leaders who think they speak for the whole community.

There have been valuable contributions so far, and there is a lot more
to come. Especially the work of Til and Andreas J. will prove to be
extremely important. But - unexpected as it may be for you - these
contributions came from people who are more concerned with writing
software than hanging around and behaving like a little child.

Regards,

        jtl
