I've got enough experience fooling around with development trees from other projects to be able to say that a project using git or hg just obliterates my volunteer spirit. I guess the larger question is whether I'm hanging around if we don't change version control. How serious am I about retiring formally in December? I don't know. Probably not that serious. It would be a nice piece of melodrama, but I probably wouldn't last long before I checked in to see how things were going. I guess I'm narrowly hoping you decide to leave well enough alone, but I don't want to hold you back either. I get that Subversion has become that weird old relic only stodgy old fossils still use. I've just never been much for change. It's almost surprising I'm not still using DOS, really. -- D.
