If we started splitting Rosegarden up, which is arguably a perfectly 
sane idea, then it would cease to be Rosegarden, and all the various 
spin-off fragments would just be competing with more mature applications 
in those respective segments.

There's no point in trying to out Ardour Ardour or out MusE MusE or out 
score MusE Score, but Rosegarden is still your go-to choice if you want 
to go from start to finish under the same roof; just as long as you 
don't require anything too specialized at any phase of development.

I haven't had the time or inspiration to do it in years, but I used to 
start with an idea on a keyboard, develop it, print notation, record 
myself playing it, and then mix together a dozen or so recordings of 
myself on different instruments.  All under one roof.  That's cool!
