Thank you for the information. Using Lubuntu (all levels up to current), with PulseAudio installed (which I need for other reasons), I have never gotten Audacity to work while JACK (qjackctl) is running. With past versions, it would hang my system to where I could only get out of it by powering off. More recent versions seem to have solved the hang problem, but Audacity still does not work for me in my system with JACK running. I always start monitoring before trying to record, because if I get no monitoring signal, I only get a silent recording. Audacity has always worked fine for me as long as JACK is not running, and in those contexts, I use it for recording. Where you said you normally record using Audacity with JACK active, I thought it was worth giving it another try, but it still does not work in my system, and there are probably a lot of differences between what I use, and what you use, to be eliminated to find the cause. It's very easy for me to just record into Rosegarden audio tracks (and I can record different 'takes' that way as well). The only hassle with that method, is cleaning up the unwanted audio files later (which I already learned how to do). So given the low priority of the problem, and the ready work-around, I think I'll just keep on recording audio within Rosegarden, rather than pursuing this bug. -- Sincerely, Aere ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Rosegarden-devel mailing list [email protected] - use the link below to unsubscribe https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/rosegarden-devel
