-Caveat Lector- N, [possibly in homage to the opening scene from the movie Tomorrow Never Dies here's my gossip on this issue as of April 22, 2004: North Korea: (AirSec) Two cargo trains reportedly collided at Ryonchon train station in North Korea, injuring or killing many people. (Some reports estimate that several thousand people may have been injured or killed.) The area in which the accident occurred is located approximately 30 mi/50 km north of Pyongyang near the shared border between North Korea and China. The trains were apparently carrying fuel, and a blast was reported shortly after the collision. A state of emergency has reportedly been declared in North Korea over the incident. (Reuters) A train carrying explosives blew up at a station in North Korea, killing 150 people and injuring more than 1,000 in a blast. (AirSec - followup) ... was caused by an accident involving construction explosives and not by a collision between two trains as previously reported. According to reports by North Korean officials relayed by the Swedish ambassador to North Korea, the accident occurred when two railcars carrying explosives intended for use in a canal excavation project came into contact with live power cables during a transfer operation. The electrical current ignited the explosives, which in turn caused secondary explosions in a nearby fuel train. The blast reportedly leveled upward of 2,000 structures in the immediate area. -Caveat Lector- Apparent inconsistencies here could be explained by clever use of sematic/linguistic wordsmithing ? (tho' I have no evidence to suggest that they do so in this case). Maybe some of the '12 US soldiers' carried away from the scene as described by witnesses were not US miltary or std GI - although three of them were (as stated). Many reports out there suggest that there are plenty of civilian personnel and other mercenary organisations (essentially privatised special ops military units, or release-deal inmates) being employed to serve either with, or even instead of, the US Army. Thinks ?. T. In a CENTCOM press release for the incident, the US Military claims that three task force All American soldiers were killed in the blast by the Improvised Explosive Device (IED), and one Iraqi killed. The press release also states that one soldier and several Iraqis were wounded. Witnesses at the scene today told a very different story, as did personnel at the Ramadi Hospital where the civilian Iraqi casualties were taken. Mohammed (last name withheld), a 25 year old Iraqi man who lives near the scene, said, I saw 12 US soldiers killed. Body parts were everywhere. Other men were turned away from the gates of the Pickering plant after claiming they wanted to take a shortcut walk through the plant on their way to the beach. One of the addresses raided was linked to the theft of a nuclear instrument used in working with Cesium-137. Investigations began when one of the men applied for permanent residence while claiming to attend a school that turned out to be fictional. This sounds like troop protection from hazmats, OK... but use of such ? Bill Tierney, a former UN weapons inspector, told Today: The key point is that the Republican Guard have been issued this new equipment. I don't see the logic. I wear a seat belt in the car, does that mean that I'm intending to cause a car crash ? My reasoning (besides satisfying a legal requirement) is that it might help protect me should someone/something else, hit me. If both these units have new equipment, then it would indicate that they are prepared to use chemical weapons. The Iraqis' standard chemical weapon is mustard gas, but they were keen on developing VX. Given that the deplyed British and American forces are issued with such, should we conclude that they are also 'prepared to use them' ? The fact that they have imported atropine is an indicator that they are willing to use VX. Likewise the British and American forces ? At least in the case of the UK, it was (and may still be) 'the elite' that were able to organise and afford the infrastructure which now exists to facilitate the development of modern abortion clinics. I would further propose that such a development was promoted in order to prevent the births of unplanned children to the young, unmarried daughters of the elite. Scandal and prevention-driven abortion was thus used to prevent illigitimacy amongst the elite who could afford to pay for it. For the record, many such clinics also provide a charitable service for the less monied 'plain folks' who voluntarily seek such a procedure having found themselves in the same, or similar situation. Press, Marine helicopter Night Hawk 1 appeared to belch smoke from its engine a couple of days ago. Bush then left and climbed aboard backup Night Hawk 2 for home. A couple of weeks earlier, April 17 - there was another elicopter flight plan change for the same president - Bush - also involving a backup helicopter, this time from from Lexington, Va., The original 'Marine One' was then said to have had a mechanical failure in its hydraulic system. I've noticed these (and their cargo) periodically ever since some significant changes in Northern Ireland followed a Chopper crash there in which very senior British Military were apparently lost. Helicopter crashes seem to be quite frequent these days - if not always making the news. Here's a sampler from the last 10 days alone: Apr 20 a helicopter carrying four Venezuelan air force generals crashed in the mountains NE of Caracas, due to poor weather conditions. -Caveat Lector- Interesting claims, but not convinced by this report alone - anyone seen this evidence yet ? His estranged wife Sabiha said last night he would order his elder sons to shoot him rather than be captured. Only to shoot ? - this is not the same as to kill. New evidence . he described the damage around the twin towers as greater than expected and praised Allah for the success of the attacks. The damage was greater than most people would have expected - does that imply that anyone making such an exclamation is therfore also involved ? The fresh tape evidence of bin Laden's involvement in the twin towers horror is said to have been found in a private home in Jalalabad. US Vice President Dick Cheney said: He does, in fact, display significant knowledge of what happened and there's no doubt about his responsibility. I hope that there is more than the above allowing him to come to such a conclusion. He shared the information with other guests and some expressed surprise. Again, so did most of us. He told them to stick around and then the second plane hit and they cheered. Most of us were 'glued' to TV and radio sets were we not ? - tho' not cheering. Anyone hear about the small bomb in McDonald's Istanbul on the 28th ? A few other explosions today (Oct 1) include a a car bomb exploded in the Basque capital of Vitoria, Spain (chief suspect ETA); a car bomb exploded in a residential area along Bethlehem Road in Jerusalem (responsibility claimed by Islamic Jihad; separatist rebels attacked the state legislature building in Srinagar, Kashmir. Dressed in police uniforms, a group entered the state capitol building and opened fire on security forces after another drove a vehicle up to the building and detonated a bomb; government workers found a jacket rigged with an explosive device alongside a road in Colombo, Sri Lanka (Police officials stated that it is the same type of device that Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) suicide bombers use when conducting attacks. They speculated that members of the LTTE may have planted the bomb for a suicide bomber to pick up at a later time in order to stage an attack in the capital). TD. 3. [CTRL] New breeds of Trojan terrorist ?.....
-Caveat Lector- In the US there is much talk about the notion, that this attack has ushered in a new breed of terrorist. That these were bright and educated individuals as opposed to the desperate and angry outcasts of yesterday. New breeds are most certainly being revealed this time around, but, at very best, the evidence so far presented to the public suggest only that these 'bright and educated individuals' existed and may have posessed the skills suggested by their training. I'm sure that Manchurian candidates and straw persons alike come in many flavours. For example, whether they were the only 'foe' on board the aircraft, or did themselves carrying out the acts witnessed by us all remains unknown (at least to me). The discovery of Islamic and Arabic artifacts, IDs and paper trails by these guys appears a little odd to me (cocky, smart or diversive?) and our assumptive logical evaluations of such 'evidence' needs be treated with constant scrutiny. As another example, the assumption that the original pilots steered into the twin towers is now questionable in the minds of many, but how many of us would be willing to entertain the idea that a non-piloted remote control system could have been used to guide the hijacked aircraft to their new trajectories ? I'm not wanting to suggest that this is what actually happened, but posit as an explanatory option, the technology certainly exists. This possibility is not inconsistent with the view that a 'new breed of terrorist' as implied by the questioner does indeed now exist; but my point here, is that we may in the future be 'finding' any number of 'bright and educated individuals' on a crime scene, who by intellectual association and leaning seem to 'fit' suspect-profiles but MAY have little/no knowledge of their complicities. NWO drive or no, one fruitful avenue of research might 'well' be to follow the lines of more 'acceptable' underground activity. However, the researchers might not have created new memories, but only confused people about the nature of memories they already had. The scenario described in the ad never occurred because Bugs Bunny is a Warner Bros. cartoon character and wouldn't be featured in any Walt Disney Co. property, according to University of Washington memory researchers Jacquie Pickrell and Elizabeth Loftus. Pickrell will make two presentations on the topic at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Society (APS) on Sunday (June 17) in Toronto and at a satellite session of the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition in Kingston, Ontario, on Wednesday. The frightening thing about this study is that it suggests how easily a false memory can be created, said Pickrell, UW psychology doctoral student. It's not only people who go to a therapist who might implant a false memory or those who witness an accident and whose memory can be distorted who can have a false memory. Memory is very vulnerable and malleable. People are not always aware of the choices they make. This study shows the power of subtle association changes on memory. In the new research, Pickrell and Loftus divided 120 subjects into four groups. The subjects were told they were going to evaluate advertising copy, fill out several questionnaires and answer questions about a trip to Disneyland. * The first group read a generic Disneyland ad that mentioned no cartoon characters. * The second group read the same copy and was exposed to a 4-foot-tall cardboard figure of Bugs Bunny that was casually placed in the interview room. No mention was made of Bugs Bunny. * The third, or Bugs group, read the fake Disneyland ad featuring Bugs Bunny. * The fourth, or double exposure group, read the fake ad and also saw the cardboard rabbit. This time, 30 percent of the people in the Bugs group later said they remembered or knew they had met Bugs Bunny when they visited Disneyland and 40 percent of the people in the double exposure group reported the same thing. Becoming a volunteer 'clickworker', participants may help the Ames Res Centre to identify Martian craters from the 1970s-80s data archive. Unlike the SETI@home system (which only uses our processing computer power and is passive as far as our involvement in concerned) it is claimed that clickworkers would be looking directly at source data. NTSB Rules that there is NO evidence of a missile or bomb on TWA 800... That's not, however, to say that there wasn't any. Is this statement to be taken as a statement of fact, or of belief ? For the public record of fact or for public opinion ? Rhetoric for public consumption is very loaded these days. (E.g., Clinton's "State of the Nation address" talked little about the state of the Nation as I could interpret it. Most of the statements referred to 'current projections' and the like, rather than to actualities. I would agree that the 'projections' themselves belonged to the present (at that time) but the projected scenarios themselves certainly did not). The lack of evidence is not evidence of absence - the findings as I read them are not inconsistent with a missile impact. Although I personally have no reason to believe that a missile did down TWA800, I see no reason to dismiss the possibility (as yet) either. If we don't know, we don't know, and in my view, that is an OK position for the informed skeptic to hold. Denial of explanation is denial of responsibility for understanding. Cheers, Tony.
