[Blind-Computing] Problem with windows media player with audible books.

2013-05-26 Thread Carliss
Listers,

I have been trying to play audible books with windows media player with know
success. I went in to the options of desktop player and checked media player
for playing the books, and nothing. However, when I went in to media player,
I ffound 33 books moved there from desktop player library, but none of them
would play. I even tried to activate windows media player and couldn't.

So, what's up? Can we play audible books with windows media player? If we
can, how! Please someone help me with this one I don't like the fact that
there's know volume control in Desktop player. Well, there is a volume
control but you need the mouse to use it. At least, that's what my brother
is saying.

Thanks to all.

Carliss

[Blind-Computing] JAWS Not Entering On Correct Links

2013-05-26 Thread Donnie Parrett
I am using JAWS 14 with a Windows 7 64 bit system. I manage my FaceBook
account through a client called TheFriendMail. I receive my FaceBook
posts in my Outlook 2010 email account in groups of 50 from TheFriendMail.
I have noticed for quite some time that when I try to click on the comment
link it does not open the link I click on. It will always be 2 or 3 links
before the one I clicked on, or 2 or 3 links after the one I clicked on.
Apparently, my JAWS curser is not where it is saying it is. Can someone
please help me figure out how to get this in sync again?

Thanks,
Donnie

Have you tried JAWS key + F7 key to bring up a list of links? Once you
do this, then go to the link in the list then tab twice to activate
link and hit enter

[Blind-Computing] transfer downloaded bard book to cartridge

2013-05-26 Thread t.
I want to ask anyone who downloads books from the bard site, and then transfers
them to a cartridge, if they do it like I do?
after the book is downloaded to my default win 7 download folder, I cut it to a
folder in documents I have for bard books, which has about 12 books in it, and
when I want to put this book on my cartridge, I open the zipped book, from the
bard folder, copy the files, and then paste them to a folder, select the files,
applications key to send to, and up to removeable. is this how you do it?

wrong when I transferred them, or is this how they are on your cartridge also?

I transfer books from my computer to my flash drive in one of two ways. If
I need to transfer only one saved book, I highlight it in my saved books
folder, launch the file menu and select the extract all option to unzip the
file, Then delete the zip file, cut the unzipped file to the clipboard and
paste it to my flash drive. If I want to transfer multiple books to my
flash drive at the same time, I use the free Humanware Companion program,
which will transfer a whole bunch of books to the flash drive and delete the
old books on the flash drive in one fell swoop with just a few keystrokes in
its JAWS accessible interface. You can download the Humanware Companion at:

[Blind-Computing] Unable to attach a file doc. to a message using alt n

2013-05-26 Thread Liuda Balcius
I use Win. 7, Outlook 2010, word 2010 and JAWS 12.

I am trying to attach files from Documents. I was able to do this earlier
today, but now I cannot. This never happened before.

After I open a new e-mail message, I press alt n which puts me into the
Insert Tab. I enter as always and it immediately kicks me out of the menu
and back to the body of the message. I can go no farther with the process
than this point.

Why is this happening and what can I do to fix this major problem to me

Wipe drive will do the job but it has to be run from a DOS prompt, it
can't
be used from within windows. Try and search for it, it's what our state

Hi Liuda,

This is not a issue with JAWS. I checked on this on the internet and a lot
of people have reported this problem with Outlook 2010. There was no clear
cut solution suggested but they kept talking about disabling outlook add

I am not confident that this will solve your issue but worth the shot.
Remember to restart Outlook after the repair OR removing the add on's.
