Debian Translation Party 2
Debian Translation Party 2 L'associazione culturale OpenLabs di Milano organizza per sabato 11 settembre 2004 il secondo Debian Translation Party. Si tratta di una intera giornata di conferenze e attività pratiche dedicata alla traduzione in Italiano del sistema operativo Debian GNU/Linux. Si replicherà la positiva esperienza dello scorso anno, arricchendola di nuovi contenuti e permettendo, a chi volesse contribuire per la prima volta, di lavorare subito in condizioni operative ottimali. La giornata vedrà la partecipazione di alcuni tra i più noti traduttori Debian della comunità italiana del Software Libero. Alcuni di essi terranno dei seminari introduttivi al tema e sarà possibile interagire con essi durante l'attività pratica di traduzione. Debian Translation Party 2: sessione di traduzioni per Sarge?
Ciao a tutti, come da precedente mail, mi piacerebbe ripetere la bella esperienza del Debian Translation Party di nuovo. Avevo ipotizzato la data: - 4/5 settembre 2004: DTP2; - (5 settembre: Sarge next release.) Passiamo ai fatti: si prospetta un intenso periodo di lavori per quanto concerne il prossimo mese (DTP2 e next release per sarge). Orbene, c'è da rimboccarsi le maniche. La presente è per cercare volontari per il Debian Translation Party 2, che mi diano una mano a organizzare e condividere gli aspetti gestionali dell'evento. Notate le 2 date: il DTP2 e la release di sarge vanno a braccetto e si potrebbe pensare a una sessione di traduzioni per un eventuale string freeze per Sarge. Visti gli ottimi risultati dell'ultimo string freeze (35 country con il 100% di traduzioni completate per il 1st stage, non è male). Occorre organizzarsi per raggiungere il 100% del 2nd stage e un buon lavoro per il 3rd stage, che ve ne pare? Ahimè stasera parto per le ferie e mi risulta difficile per 10 dì essere presente via mail. Vedrò di andarla a scaricare/consultare da qualche parte. Debian Translation Party 2
Ciao a tutti, mi sarebbe piaciuto rivivere una bella esperienza come il debian Translation Party, cosicchè pensavo che si potesse iniziare ad organizzare una seconda edizione del DTP, il DTP2 appunto ;-P Prendendo spunto dal successo della scorsa edizione [1] si potrebb ampliare il numero degli interventi, delle sessioni di traduzione e delle iniziative legate all'evento. E' vero che ci sono le vacanze in mezzo, ma questo potrebbe essere un periodo propizio per trovarci, fare qualche presentazione e sponsorizzare l'afflusso di nuovi traduttori. Mi piacerebbe proporre come data quella del 4-5 settembre 2004, se non altro agosto è appena passato e con meno probabilità si rischia di sovrapporsi al periodo vacanziero. Andare oltre potrebbe far coincidere con i preparativi del LinuxDay 2004 e quindi *incasinare* i piani di ognuno di noi. Fatemi sapere per iniziare ad organizzare. Ciao SC, appena aperto il file ho notato che hai lasciato l'header standard, la codifica deve essere utf-8 e manca il copyright. Sono dettagli ovviamente. :) Ora passiamo alla sostanza. 1) servente è un parola che mi fa venire i brividi. Io preferisco server. lo so, tuttavia fa parte delle parole da tradurre e ahimè, rende il concetto (speravo di lasciarla invariata)! 2) qua e la hai dimenticato qualche accento, intendo dire che hai messo a' invece di à etc ho appena cambiato portatile e uso una tastiera americana, dunque devo riadattarlo alle diverse esigenze! pardon! Ciao a tutti, oggi ho provato ad usare la lingua italiana per la shell e ho notato alcune traduzioni un po' bizzarre: 1) Selezionato il pacchetto , che non lo era. In questo caso penso si intendesse dire Selezionato il pacchetto , che non c'era in precedenza. oppure Selezionato il pacchetto , che non installato in precedenza. 2)Preparativi per il rimpiazzo di yyy (usando .../zz) ... In quest'altro avrei personalmente sostituito rimpiazzo con sostituto (forse un po' elegante!) Con ciò non critico il lavoro altrui! Ciao a tutti, ho avuto la fortuna di imparare tante cose su Debian e sul d-i questo week-end all'appuntamento con l'OpenLanParty c/o Openlabs (Milano), di cui sono socio. Ha preso parte all'evento anche Giuseppe Sacco, che approfitto per ringraziare delle illuminazioni! Ciao a tutti, L'installazione debian, in boot-floppies, era divisa in due parti: nella prima si preparavano i dischi, si copiava il sistema di base e lo si configurava. Poi c'era un reboot e partiva la seconda fase: creazione di un utente e scelta dei pacchetti da installare

Penso che siano tutti fondamentali; l'installer va oltre la diffuza architettura i386, in questo GNU/Linux è superiore! la priorità è soggettiva. Vanno fatti e basta. Ciao a tutti, ho dei dubbi su come tradurre la seguente frase (cvs server: Updating debian-installer/tools/partconf): /, /usr, /boot, /home, /var, /tmp, Don't mount it, Enter manually io ci ho provato così: Non si montino i seguenti file system: /, /usr, /boot, /home, /var, /tmp. Li si inserisca manualmente. Che ne pensate? Ciao Giuseppe, Se puoi attivare un CVS allora direi che la cosa si può fare, ma dovresti prenderti la briga di creare anche i vari account e gestirli. Io non sono in generale favorevole ad un CVS temporaneo, ma non ho esperinze simili e quindi mi sta bene di fare la prova. Ciao, Giuseppe in fin dei conti non è che siamo mille persone, perciò non dovrebbe essere un grosso problema. Il bello è che il server è in housing e che quindi la sua disponibilità è garantita. Ciao a tutti, premetto, che non voglio imporre, ma solo dare un consiglio: nn editate a mano i file. Io ho scoperto un tool che si chiama POEDITOR (il pacchetto è poedit), scritto in GTK e mi va bene questo perchè ho Gnome istallato, che funge da framework per le localizzazioni. Fate un apt-cache search localization e scoprirete un mondo nuovo (nuovo per me!!!). Anche tools per kde e winds mgr. La data di creazione del file it.po è relativa, te la imposta lui. I dati po-traslation team e cose del genere le generi mediante un wizard, Io mi sono trovato a mio agio così Voi invece come fate? I francesi hanno unasto console mentre i tedeschi Konsole: noi ...console? Secondo vuoi in italiano è più corretto tradurre reduce di una device in
ridurre o rimuovere, in fin dei conti si tratta di togliere una device
da un
volume group ossia da un raggruppamento logico.

Personalmente, giacche' e' scritto '_to_ reduce volume group, leggerei
una proposizione finale, per cui invece di [ \device\ da rimuovere ]
io tradurrei [ \device\ per {rimpicciolire} il volume group ] dove
al posto di {rimpicciolire} metterei un sinonimo piu' azzeccato.

Pensandoci bene ci stiamo ricorrendo con lo stesso dubbio! vabbè, potrebbe
essere corretto sostituire {rimpicciolire} con *ridimensionare*, ma ciò non
