RE: Extracting Audio From MP4 Files
Hi Mate, There definitely is. What file format to which file format do you want to convert stereo to mono. In the later versions of Easy CDDA, you have to use the Jaws cursor a bit or wineyes mouse cursor etc. But it certainly can be done. If you want I can do it for you :). FW: More about the JFW Foobar scripts from Andrew Hart.
-Original Message- Sent: Sunday, 15 April 2012 4:07 AM Hi folks, For those folks out there who use Foobar 2000 for listening to their movies/tv/radio audio, I've written some JAWS scripts for this media player that you may find useful. Among other things, they provide the ability to set multiple time markers for an audio track you are playing, as well as commands for having JAWS speak the elapsed, remaining and total time of an audio track. Essentially, they provide Foobar 2000 with some of the functionality available in the JAWS scripts for Winamp. The scripts are for JAWS versions 12 and 13, but should also be compatible with JAWS 11 and earlier versions at least as far back as 9. However, I can't make any promises as I have only tested them on JAWS 12 and 13. The scripts can be downloaded from http://www.jfwscripts.cjb.net For any Winap users checking out the scripts, please note that while many of the JAWS commands are the same as in Winamp, there are some minor differences in order to accomodate the Foobar UI. Cheers and enjoy, Andrew. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
RE: virtual audio cable was Re: Virtual Audio Streaming
One instance is you don't need to use the audio repeater if you wanted to record directly from the vac cable. E.G. You set audio player to output to vac cable, then in say total recorder you can choose to record from the vac cable . As mentioned, it's not rocket science. The limit on how to use this thing is your imagination. Also, the stuttering does not happen if you set it up properly like adjusting buffers etc. There is a userguide on how to do all this believe it or not. The Vac cable is essentially a virtual sound card and in most audio based programs it is seen as just another sound device. The limit on how to use this thing is your imagination. Also, the stuttering does not happen if you set it up properly like adjusting buffers etc. There is a userguide on how to do all this believe it or not. So for example you queue two tracks, as you arrow down the playlist and you come across the track you added to the playback queue and say it was the second track you added, your screen reader will read 2 then the name of the track etc. Very handy! -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of David Truong Sent: Friday, 22 April 2011 10:13 AM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: FYI foobar and winamp blog Importance: High Hi Dave, No you didn't. David. original mesage: Hi David and James, to queue tracks that you've found in search, choose add to playback queue on the context menu. This seems to work. David. orginal messge: HI James, I found that you can use the search box in foobar to queue tracks by finding your tracks via your search term, highlighting the track or tracks you want to queue and then copying the tracks to the clipboard. Then you close search box and going to the track you want to put the songs after then paste the tracks from the clipboard. It isn't as quite as automatic as winamp but it can be done. The ability to tell the player to stop playing at the end of the current track or a selected track further along in the playlist. 4. The ability to play the last ten seconds or so of a track without needing to specify the time. (plug-in needed - http://skipyrich.com/wiki/Foobar2000:Preview) 5. The ability to jump to a specified time in a track. (plug-in needed - http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_seek_box) 6. The ability to move forward and back by 5 second increments in a track by the use of arrow keys or similar. 7. The ability to read the sample rate, bit rate and number of tracks of a file. 8. The ability to modify ID3 tags. 9. The ability to cross fade tracks (I know this can be done with Foobar). 10. The ability to equalise the output volume of files. Now, for the ones which I'm not too sure about: 1. The ability to search for a file in a playlist and move it to immediately after the currently playing track. (there is a playlist search function that works well, however I'm not sure how easy it is to queue search results after the currently playing track) 2. The ability to locate a file with Windows Explorer and insert it into the playlist immediately after the currently playing track. This can be done with Winamp although how to do it is not immediately obvious. (queuing songs from Windows Explorer is definitely possible, however once again I'm not sure about having songs queued in a certain order. Perhaps you could try the same method you use with Winamp with Foobar if it is a universal Windows Explorer trick?) Previously, Barry Chapman said: I have been a long time Winamp user, but have been reading the recent discussion on Foobar2000 with interest. I would consider changing to Foobar if it can do all of the following, which are possible with Winamp. The inability to do them would be a show stopper for me. 1. The ability to search for a file in a playlist and move it to immediately after the currently playing track. 2. Can anyone say if it is possible to do the above with Foobar. RE: FYI foobar and winamp blog
Hi, Let me say that I was a heavy user in Winamp and looked at Foobar ages ago and wasn't impressed with it. However, I must admit after reading the recent messages on Foobar, I have taken another look and well, I have ditched Winamp for good. That's how much I am impressed with Foobar. In my opinion the sound quality is so much better. Everything is configurable and accessible. The fact you can make up your own status line makes it worthwhile alone as it is a cinch to script for such things as reading the elapsed time and time remaining of tracks with just a press of hotkeys etc. Nearly every thing Foobar can do you can create a shortcut key to it and make them global if you want to. In the foobar version I looked at ages ago, making your own shortcut keys was not accessible but that has changed and is fully accessible. There is so much more to this program than I have outlined here. Oh I have to also mentioned that it is dam responsive which was something that Winamp wasn't at times. The only thing I wish Foobar had is a plug-in to provide time marking features. Perhaps that can be scripted in time or I might find that plug-in in the future. But yeah, I don't know what gives with Foobar and Window Eyes though. There is a problem reading the list of tracks in the play list. NVDA and Jaws don't have this problem. David Truong. RE: Presentation of Rockbox on a Talking MP3 Player
Hi, For what it's worth. I'm from Australia and I recently bought one of these talking mp3 players from Laz of Accessible Electronics. In fact it was the Sansa clip 8gb. I have to say that I'm very satisfied with it. Now I consider myself a pretty techy kinda guy but I wanted to get a mp3 player which I could use whilst doing my fitness work. I couldn't be bothered searching for such a beast and then having to go to the shops and buy the player then go to the rockbox site and download the right rockbox version and install it etc. It was so much more convenient to get Accessible Electronics to rockbox it for me and deliver it. Also, I knew that the player would already be good to go so no worrying about that. Plus the price was very reasonable. Laz was very good to deal with as well. So there you go. Personally, I'd encourage anyone who wants a great sounding mp3 player already talking to give Accessible Electronics a look. David Truong. Australian Goalball Nationals Internet commentaries.
Hi to those of you interested in Goalball, I Just wanted to let you know that we are having internet audio commentaries of the Australian goalball nationals being held in Brisbane on Friday 8 October through to early afternoon on Sunday 10 October. there will be 4 women's teams and 5 men's teams competing. Competition starts between 8:30am and 9:00AM each morning. Here is how to listen: Go to: http://conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs97b7abfbc5c2 - this is the direct link to the Accessible World Sports Arena. The Accessible World Sports Arena is an audio chat room, where you can listen to the games, and if you wish, you can also text chat with other listeners during the games. When you go to this page, there are two things you need to remember. 1) If this is your first time using the chat room, you need to install the small (and very safe) little program that can be found here: http://conference321.com/masteradmin/webconferenceplugin.exe This is the program that allows your computer to listen and chat with Accessible World. This program is bug free, and will not affect any other program on your computer. You only have to do this on your first visit. Once you have done it, you don't need to do it again. 2) When you enter the chat room, it will ask you for a user name and a password. This broadcast is not password protected, you do not need a password. Simply enter your name, and leave the password field blank. Hope to see you there, David Truong. Then the below message should help. _ Sent: Monday, 27 September 2010 7:21 AM hello all, Just wanted to let you know that we are once again having internet audio commentaries of the New Zealand goalball nationals being held in Christchurch on Friday 1 October through to late afternoon on Sunday 3 October. there will be 3 women's teams and 5 men's teams competing. to listen to the commentaries you can either go to http://www.pressakey.net/sports and press number 1 to move to the right area. if that doesn't work then find the link for the NZ nationals and enter on it. This will take you to the accessible sports arena. If this is your first time there you need to download a small programme that allows you to listen to the commentaries. you then will be asked for a user name and password. You don't have to put a password in, just leave it blank and hit enter on log in. then you should hear what's going on. the direct link details for going straight to the accessible sports arena are as follows: The Audio Network and Accessible World will be teaming up to bring you live coverage of all three days, plus an audio archive of the games you might have missed too! Here is how to listen. Go to http://conference321.com/masteradmin/room.asp?id=rs97b7abfbc5c2 - this is the direct link to the Accessible World Sports Arena. The Accessible World Sports Arena is an audio chat room, where you can listen to the games, and if you wish, you can also text chat with other listeners during the games. When you go to this page, there are two things you need to remember. 1) If this is your first time using the chat room, you need to install the small (and very safe) little program that can be found here - http://conference321.com/masteradmin/webconferenceplugin.exe - This is the program that allows your computer to listen and chat with Accessible World. This program is bug free, and will not affect any other program on your computer. You only have to do this on your first visit. Once you have done it, you don't need to do it again. 2) When you enter the chat room, it will ask you for a user name and a password. This broadcast is nto password protected, you do not need a password. Simply enter your name, and leave the password field blank. If you are wanting to listen to the archives, please go to http://www.pressakey.net/sports/menu.php - there are over 350 goalball games in the archive already, including the Aussie and NZ Nationals from 2009. The archive of this tournament will usually be available the day after the games has been played live. RE: Winamps audio playback capabilities
HI Mac, I'm using the latest version of Winamp with the latest version of Jaws along with the Winamp scripts that are distributed with Jaws. This time, however, I unchecked any and all of the On Line media functions, as Win Amp would freeze up, anytime I opened the Media Library, but does not freeze up now, enabling me to put content into it, from both of my external drives! It used to come up on some AOL or other item and just sit there, requiring shutdown and start up, of my entire system, to bring Win Amp back. Well, duckstream is not like winamp or real player. Duckstream is just a program which helps you stream the music from winamp, WMP or realplayer to a spesific server you have set up the actual program for. For example, let's say that you have started a little radio station, then you set up Duckstream to your own server with the server name, server port, password and mp3 setting etc. this program has also an archive function which lets you do a recording of your show and if the connection should brake up, the archive function is still going, and you can even set your own compression, if you want some smoothness into the stream it self. you can also stream om an shoutcast server or icecast server, depends on how you have set up the actual server. the sound which you're streaming from, should be coming through your sound card which your player program is assosiated to. hope this helps. RE: Success Browsing to Location in Easy CD-DA Extractor
HI, Why not just put the following into a new script file for Easy CD-DA Extractor and assign a hotkey. That's what I've done and had access to the browse folder button since it came out. I mean it is actually a browse folder button except the author hasn't shown it properly in the dialogue to us. But if you use the home row utility of jaws, you will indeed find this browse folder button in there. Anyway, here is the script code and modify it how you want. Oh it goes without saying that I don't support this code so use at your own risk. Also, I'd be sure you know a little bit about jaws scripting if you want to use the below code. ; Cut from below this line Include HjGlobal.jsh ; default HJ global variables Include hjconst.jsh ; default HJ constants Script ClickBrowseFolderLocationButton () Var Handle grip Let grip = GetAppMainWindow (GetFocus ()) Let grip = GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetNextWindow (GetNextWindow (GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetFirstChild (GetNextWindow (GetNextWindow (grip) SetFocus (grip) Pause()LeftMouseButton () EndScript Jonathan Mosen List Founder Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: Using 2 sound cards
HI Mate, Taken from the Freedom Scientific support section: Question: I have two sound cards on my computer. How do I make sure JAWS uses the one I want? Answer: Many JAWS users who also use music or audio production software want JAWS and Eloquence to speak through one sound card, while using the other for their production work. To do this, you need to edit a file called JFW.ini and install the updated Eloquence Speech driver in the accompanying zip file. Editing the jfw.ini file: list of 5 items 1. Using My Computer or Windows Explorer, browse your hard drive to the currently running version of JAWS and find the jfw.ini file in that folder. 2. Press ENTER to open. 3. You should find some lines that read: list of 3 items nesting level 1 . Synth1Name=eloq . Synth1LongName=Eloquence for JAWS . Synth1Driver=eloq The number doesn't matter, it may be 1, 2, or 3, but it must be the same for all entries for Eloquence. list end nesting level 1 4. Add the following line after the driver line: Synth1Port=SB Live! Wave Device. Of course, you need to make sure that the synth number matches the other lines, so that if the Driver line read Synth3Driver=eloq then the port line would read Synth3Port=SB Live! Wave Device The text after the = sign in the Port line comes from Control Panel/Sound Multimedia/Audio tab. It must be one of the entries that can be chosen for Preferred Playback device. 5. Save your changes and exit Notepad. With JAWS version 5.x and higher, you are done. list end If you have JAWS version 4.x, you will also need to install the updated driver. As long as JAWS is running and speaking through Eloquence, eloq.jls cannot be simply overwritten when unzipping the file. You will need to switch to NoSpeech or MS SAPI to get the eloq.jls to overwrite properly. list of 4 items 1. Download the file from ftp://ftp.freedomscientific.com/users/hj/private/eloq.zip 2. Unzip the zip file into the root of the active JAWS directory where you made the change to the jfw.ini file. 3. Restart JAWS and it should now be speaking from the sound card you wanted. 4. If not, make sure the entries are correct in the jfw.ini file and that your sound card is indeed installed correctly. Most audio and music production software allows you to select a sound device for it as well, so it can use one sound card while JAWS uses another. list end -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Quinten Pendle Sent: Wednesday, 12 March 2008 7:31 AM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: FW: Using 2 sound cards -Original Message- From: Quinten Pendle [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, March 11, 2008 11:28 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: Using 2 sound cards Greetings all I am currently using a creative soundblaster Live, but find when I broadcast audio and communicate with people via e.g. msn, I can't really hear jaws propperly. RE: Looking for a special patch cord
Hi, I don't think you will find a patch chord like that. Basically from what I am understanding you want to separate the channels on the headphones assuming the headphones are stereo. Then you want to assign each sound card to a channel? E.G. sound card1 on left channel and soundcard2 on right channel? Is that close to the mark? If so, you are going to have to split the headphone cable and put a plug at the end of each split cable. So after the split, one cable will be right channel and one cable will be left channel and then as mentioned plug one cable into first sound card and the other cable into second sound card. Of course the other way to do it which has already been suggested is buy a mixer. I stand to be corrected on the above as I'm really not that clear on what you are trying to do. RE: Station Playlist Studio
Hi Dane, Unfortunately you can't once the playlist has been written in. In other words, once you have created the playlist there is no way in Playlist Studio to shuffle or randomise your list of tracks whilst in automation or live assist mode unless you do it manually. The Station Playlist Creator program will create playlists for you based on criteria and you will get a different list of tracks each time a play list is created. But that's as close as you'll get to shuffle / random play. RE: Easy CD DA Extractor, I should keep my mouth shut
Hi, I can verify all of Dane's findings hence why I went back to v10. But the output folder was the main problem that annoyed me and I'm using Jaws 9. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dane Trethowan Sent: Monday, 25 February 2008 7:28 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Easy CD DA Extractor, I should keep my mouth shut Right! well list members will know that I've been singing the praises of Easy cD DA Extractor over the last few months because of the advancements made in CD Error Recovery, the ability to write cue sheets and so forth but now? Well I have to be honest when I say that this application is trying my patience and I'm referring specifically here to the latest build of version 11, I don't know whether the developer has pains in the stomach or whatever but rather than a bug fix release it seems to be a bug bare release, time to get out the fly swat smile. Now the first thing I noticed is that (for some reason) Easy CD DA Extractor objects to converting Aif files to MP3, never had this problem in previous versions and (according to Easy CD DA Extractor itself) this format is supposed to be fully supported. Next thing and this is probably the most annoying at the moment, how the hell does someone tell Easy CD DA Extractor the precise location of an output folder when ripping a CD? In the past I'm sure this combo box was accessible and it could be manipulated but now? Well I've tried everything with Window-Eyes and I can only get as far as clicking on the combo box, I can then move the arrow keys but these only take me to the route folder of a drive with no speech output so the only way I can find out what I'm doing is to continually reference the combo box with the we cursor. And finally, don't rely on Easy CD DA Extracto to convert a cue sheet and associated file to MP3 or whatever, this works some times but at other times it doesn't, for some reason best known to Easy CD DA Extractor, it objects to some of the characters present in a cue sheet. So I'm interested, has any other Easy CD DA Extractor had any problems or do they have any solutions? I'm particularly interested in the problem I mentioned with the output folder as I would imagine that I'm the only one on this list who bothers about cue sheets and converting from Aif formats smile. ** Dane Trethowan From Melton Victoria Australia Phone +613 9747 3975 Voiceover Tech Support +613 8732 9237 Fax +613 9743 7954 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] msn: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: callto:grtdane12 *** Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

But, maybe, in a few months, when I've paid off some other expenses, and am feeling bored, I'll give it a whirl. I assume they offer an evaluation copy/period. Thanks for the suggestion. RE: Winamp 5.35 and external sound card won't play nice together
HI Chris, Which sb live external card is it? There are more than one. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Skarstad Sent: Sunday, 4 November 2007 11:30 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]; pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: Winamp 5.35 and external sound card won't play nice together Hi folks I'm posting this question to multiple lists in hopes I can get a somewhat quick answer. I've got someone who has written to me privately off list who just got an external sound card, it's a SB live! She's using a laptop with a signatel soundcard, yeah not the best but these laptops have never had good sound cards for things. What she would like to do is separate things, so her window-eyes software speech goes on one card, and the music from Winamp goes to the other. She wants to learn how to broadcast, and we've got everything together but this issue came up yesterday and I haven't been able to figure out what in hell is going on. I spent a couple hours with her on the phone and msn trying to get this to work but without much success. Even though everything is plugged in properly, the SB Live card simply will not work, and we can't figure out why. One of her room mates has a very similar card, and he was able to use it without installing the software for it, and when he did it required a working pare of eyes which isn't easy to come by there. I'm just wondering if the card that's not working actually might require the software to work whereas the other one didn't seem to? Also,I'm wondering which card should handle which thing, would the internal sound card handle the software speech better tthan it would music, remember this is for broadcasting purposes so she wants the broadcast to sound as good as it can. I've done everything I can think of, and I am stumped. So, I'm wondering if any of you folks have any ideas? Just for specific's sake, She's using Winamp 5.35 and the Nullsoft waveout plugin for her music output, and in the configuration for that plugin, she has Winamp pointed to her SB Live external card, which as I said at the beginning, doesn't work at all. She hears her speech fine because that's on her regular internal card for the laptop, but no music. Is there something we're doing wrong, or is it possible that her laptop and that particular external card just aren't compadible for some crazy reason or another? I hope what I'm asking makes some sense here, so if anyone can give some tips, I'd be greatful! Thanks! Goalball Audio Stereo Recordings: 2007 Trans Tasman test Series.
Hi to those of you interested, I have stereo recordings of the recently completed Trans Tasman Goalball 5 test series held in Melbourne over 21-22 September at Kew High School. There is no commentary. None the less it is a cracking series played between two great teams being Australia and New Zealand. Many of you probably know the result of the series but just in case you don't, I won't spoil it for you smile. You can download these files from: ftp://files:[EMAIL PROTECTED] I'll be sending up some sendspace links soon just in case you can't get into my ftp site. However, if you do run into problems with the ftp site, just try toggling your passive mode settings. Cheers and enjoy. RE: Strange Winamp=with-JAWS Behavior since Winamp 5.35
HI Steve, I think I told you this the other day, just assign as a custom highlight colour the text in that dialogue box which is not being spoken by Jaws. Please don't tell me you don't know how to do that smile. With the introduction of 5.35, I have noticed a difference in the behavior of the jump-to-time dialog (CTRL/J). Formerly, when pressing CTRL/J, JAWS would read the dialog just as it always did, and include the line beneath the edit field that contained the total track length. Starting with Winamp Version 5.35, the line with the total track length is no longer automatically spoken. There are no scripts or frames or anything specific to JAWS associated with this dialog, which is what really puzzles me about this. Why, or how, would this behavior change, or what would cause or have caused it to be changed, and, of course, what can be done to put it back? Now, before you all reach for the reply key and tel me that the information I desire can be gotten from the CTRL+JAWS-key+T screen, I know that, and that's not the point. I'm interested to know what broke the old behavior and how to restore it. I already well know other ways of getting it. Hi Steve, What environment do you want this clock read in Braille? I mean will you want it on your pac mate, PC etc. If PC, I could find out how to get Jaws to do this as it has been done before I believe. RE: Winamp Script differences
Hi Peter, I am running JAWS Version 8, 0, 1177, 3 along with Winamp 5.33 and do not have the problem you speak of. I have loaded up a pretty huge play list and when I arrow up and down the list, the scripts plays a tone when arrowed onto the currently loaded / playing track. ' Subject: Winamp Script differences I am now using Winamp 5.3 and have resolved some issues I had, however I do notice a difference in the way things work with the Playlist now that I have installed the latest small update to Jaws 8.01.1177U Where before when you cursor up or down to a track which is the currently playing or current selected track, the scripts would generate a tone to indicate current track, however now with the new version it is a spoken current track which Jaws says after telling you what the track is. I know this might be a small thing to some, but it does save extra verbalisation when not necessary, as the tone would be reported before the track would be read, and if you wanted to you could shut up the speech. I wonder if there is a technical reason why they have done this? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Adrian Spratt Sent: Saturday, 14 April 2007 3:47 AM To: PC audio discussion list. RE: Easy CD Extractor Version 10.0.6 is now Available
Hi, If your screen reader has a feature to define highlight colours or define highlight bars then this will allow you to read the list of tracks to rip. So then all you need to do then is use your powers of logic. As you suggested, all tracks are checked by default, so pressing space on each track will deselect it, Yes! I know it would be great if there was a way to let you know what you have selected or deselected but the above with a little use of your memory should get you by until the author makes that part of the program accessible. Ots DJ is very accessible via JAWS if you use Snowman's scripts, which are very reasonably priced. SAM Broadcaster is a real bear. There are things in that software, like the clock wheels, to which we will never have access. I think saying the Station Playlist products are a toy compared with SAM and Ots DJ is a bit of an overstatement, and even if it turns out to be true, I give the author of that system all the credit and kudos in the world for making and keeping it accessible without any scripts or set files or anything. Louis Louw (SAM) refuses to even talk about accessibility; the Ots folks made a big deal about it back when they first came out and were selling their software for 69 dollars. Now that they're in the high-priced DJ market, they've forgotten everything they ever told us they'd work on to improve accessibility. RE: Sam Encoders VS Shoutcast Plug-In
HI, Audio pipeline means that Sam will take the audio data straight from the particular program you are using to stream your audio. So if it is winamp then Sam will take the data straight from winamp itself. If it is ots DJ then Sam will take the audio data from that program. Let me put it another way, if you had winamp set to use the null output plugin and you had Sam configured to use the audio pipeline, sam would still stream the data out to the shoutcast server even if you didn't have a sound card installed. Sure you wouldn't hear any audio on your pc but you would hear the audio on another computer if you logged onto the server you are streaming to and assuming that other computer has an actual sound card installed smile. If you have Sam configured to sound card then guess what, Sam will take the audio data from whatever sound card you choose. In other words, Sam will broadcast whatever audio you input into your sound card. It is all pretty straight forward really! Open the sam encoders, and then right clik like you did before. Now, arrow down to where it says, sound card sub menu. There is a setting in there that says audio pipeline. if you're going to be doing live broadcasts, with both announcements from your microphone and music, you'll want to point the plugin to the particular card you're using. Also, it matters how you give the link to your station to friends. Remember, you'll need to give your friend some kind of internet address such as your IP address, or better yet, sign up with one of the free domain hosting sites like http://www.no-ip.com and get yourself a free domain so that you can give that address to your friend. So for example, you could get an address such as: http://rock.audio-stream.net You're on port 8000 most likely, so the address you would give to your friends would be http://rock.audio-stream.net:8000 notice the colon followed by 8000 at the end. Now if you do all this and the Sam Encoders still don't work, remember Spacial Audio does provide tech support for its products, so don't hesitate to go to them for help if you need it. For that amount of money I would hope the tech support is somewhat decent. I never used it so I can't say. At 01:22 AM 8/25/2006, you wrote: Hello List! RE: Sam Encoders VS Shoutcast Plug-In
HI Chris, This is not strictly true. If the program in question can get mic input directed to go through the program's audio pipeline then you can have music and voice breaks using a mic being streamed through the sam Audio pipeline. Remember I said in my previous message that Sam's audio pipeline takes the audio data from the actual program you are streaming from. So if the actual program you are streaming from such as Winamp or Ots DJ is able to have voice breaks from a microphone or mixer along with music redirected through Winamp or OTS DJ itself then Sam's audio pipeline will stream it to a server. I have broadcasted with both Winamp and OTS DJ setups. Hi, It depends what program you are asking about. With Winamp, you have to have two instances running to be able to get both music and the mic redirected through Winamp and then to Sam Audio Pipeline. The advantage with this approach is that you can get the various dsp plugins to insure that your mic gets included when these plugins do their compression etc. David Truong E-mail and MS messenger: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Skype: blindboxer1967 Home Page: http://members.optusnet.com.au/davidtruong/ -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of kerry Sent: Monday, August 28, 2006 3:23 AM To: PC audio discussion list. World Championship Goalball recordings.
Hi There, Recently I competed in the IBSA World Goalball Championships in Spartanburg South Carolina USA as a member of the Australian team. This gave me the opportunity to use my r01 digital audio recorder to record a number of Goalball games using the r01 built-in stereo microphones. So as not to clutter the list, if you want to hear any of these games then feel free to get in touch with me and I will give you the necessary details to grab them. These games don't have commentary but if you are into Goalball, you will be able to follow the games easy enough from the clear recorded audio.
