name you're aliasing. It handles that just fine. I do it in exactly that

Could anybody show me how I would pass values from a child window back to
the parent window? I have a form with a link that spawns a window, and from
the new page, the user selects some checkboxes. I wanted to pass the
values back into a form field in the parent window. I'm getting an error
OK, I'll accept that 8^).
I usually use macros to accomplish the same thing. Unfortunately, Studio (I
haven't tried DWMX, so I can't speak to it) doesn't provide support for
macros. You know... I'm off to the wish list to submit that as a feature
request.

The problem is that Javascript also has it's own set of escape characters.
So, you need to do something like:

window.opener is the parent object. You can set any form element from the child
window using the Javascript statement window.opener.formname.inputelementname.value =
document.formname.fieldname.value;
