I can say that the latest interim is 1.79i7. That is great then I know the latest interim. But that won't help someone who is running 1.79i3 in this case, because they don't know if the new feature was added before or after 1.79i3. Correct but they will know they do not have the latest interim and can then search teh archives for features they did not know about. I think what Markus is asking here is just that when you post that something is fixed in the latest interim to also include the number that indicates what the latest interim is. That I do do, most of the time. For example, That was just fixed in a new interim 1.79i7. Can you change most of the time to all of the time so even when looking at the archives we know what interim you are refering to. We also will know which features go with which interim. The file date does display on the webpage. But I agree the version number displayed in some manner would be very useful. As for searching the archives, since they haven't been updated for over two weeks, won't this start being an incomplete information source? Perhaps having the release notes current to the latest interim and having interim version listed for each release line would be a good solution. i.e. Something like this in the release notes. I think the final answer really should be If you don't like the way that interim releases work, pretend that there are only releases and betas. While we appreciate input, the procedure for interims *must* be as simple as possible. Add too much to the process, and it takes almost as much time as new betas, and there is no need for interims anymore. I just can't see how that can possible take more time to the author - but it will This is just one of those cases where you can't have it both ways -- you can either choose fast fixes with minimal documentation and related services, or standard betas. The thing that is especially good here, though, is that you *do* have a choice. If you don't like the way that interims work, just stick with the betas. Yes, this does keep coming up. And yes, it would be nice if we could enhance the documentation/services regarding interims. But I just don't see that happening. That's just part of the nature of interims, and why they were introduced. Please understand that I hold you in the highest regard..grin Surely you know which interim you have available when you post to the list that something is added or fixed in the latest interim? I think what Markus is asking here is just that when you post that something is fixed in the latest interim to also include the number that indicates what the latest interim is. This is not asking for additional documentation, just tell everyone what the latest is when you post these statements. That way those that use the interims know whether or not they're on the latest without having to download and run it to find out. This would go a long way to quelling these discussions, simply by adding the last interim number to the email...doesn't have to be the interim that actually fixed it, just the last one. Either that or just name the files according to the interim rather than just declude.exe. I think everyone here understands and sincerely appreciates the effort and quick response put into the interims, but obviously this confusion and mild frustration keeps coming up, so maybe it's time to make a slight adaptation... I just wish a little more info was available on what the interim release added/fixed/removed. Frankly, I'm sometimes amazed you get any work done, considering the number of posts you have on the Declude and Imail forums. Different people are asking for different things (labelling the current interim version on the website, including the version number in posts for new features (which is normally already done), including the version in posts where the archives already contain the version needed for the feature, adding the information to the release notes, etc.). Just out of curiosity, how did you come by this valuable piece of information.
