Hello Jon,
Sorry, we should mention to everyone that we have always had very good
service through this company (Cyberfronier - cyberica.net) and this seems
to be the first problem we have had from them over the past year of
service. There site - www.cyberica.net is also down so their seems to
How long do you anticipate that the e-gold servers will be down?

hi craig,
we are currently investigating what seems to be
a DDOS type attack which overwhelms the network
capacity of a website with dummy requests.

Jay,
Hello Graham,
Thanks for letting me know about the post. It never appeared to me to
check back here while we try to save the livelyhood on the poor souls on
server05...
Cheers,
Robert.

Dear John,
PGP has a tempest prevention font, although I don't know if
it is effective.
PGP's TEMPEST-prevention font is certainly effective for what
it offers, which is a way of displaying in fairly low contrast
the text on screen. It makes for much more work for the

Dear Sidd,
This will reveal your limited access PIK... use the limited
access PIK to log in with limited access, and likewise use
your read-only PIK for read-only access.
Ah, I see. That's nifty.
You can also activate PGP security for your account
Yes, I've done so. It is also spiffy.
Thanks so much for the details. Again sorry to make any problems and again
you have always provided top notch service!!! Sorry to hear that you are
having such a hard time with this situation.

Only in that case, the security of Pecunix will be above the others, not
before that. Most people don't use IP lock or PGP log-in, they use
passwords - it's easier.
I was, of course, referring to the security of the log-in process. The rest
is better, considering the PGP integration.

However a distributed DOS attack can be very sophisticated indeed.
A ddos attack might very much NOT be a script kiddie, but could be
a real hacker - definitely. A ddos attack could be mossad, or
maybe just script kiddies.

Gibson Research (www.grc.com) has some pretty interesting information on
this subject too. The owner, Steve Gibson, once exposed a script kiddie
after facing a DoS attack. The complete story is on the site.
Unfortunately the site was down just now, maybe they are under attack as
well (again).

Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the DGC world -- I've never had to
fund an account before.
My question is this: are there any exchangers that will help me remain
anonymous? It seems like most of them either ask for a phone number or
they charge very high rates.
All I want to do is send off

Hi,
for e-gold we can do this via a money order and you can remain 100%
anonymous, but this entirely depends on the USD value of your exchange.
#1. Anonymous - Yes 100%
#2 Low Rates - Yes how about 0%?
#3 Quick = yes, we will fund your account as soon as the money order
arrives.

If the IP addresses showing up at your server in a DDOS
situation were the legitimate IP addresses for offending
machines, filtering them out would be relatively easy in the
scheme of things!
So what is the best architecture/method to defend against DDOS?
Unfortunately DDOS has graduated
their is not a whole lot that can be done for a smaller outfit.
The only partially effective solutions start in the 50k range which would
imply you would drop in a special server in front of the network to filter
random ip traffic properly.
Since ddos is coming in from any and everywhere it
another strategy we have used in the past which only works for servers with
only clients on a dedicated ip with ssl is to block off port 80 when it is
being flooded.
your site will still run over the ssl port and escape attack in many cases.
Sometimes when we see a ddos we can keep the ssl

Clipboard pasting your PGP password simply shifts the
