I must have thought at the time that you could call a named file in 2.2.x as
well as trunk.

Thanks John.
This correction should already be in the online version of the docs, and
will be in the next bugfix update as well.

Spindles spin fast, but with relatively little torque. Rotary

Sebastian, et al,
I recently got a 7i43 (7i43-U-4 to be specific) and am getting an error
loading the firmware.
I load the drivers / firmware as follows:
Loadrt hostmot2 debug_idrom=1 debug_module_descriptors=1
debug_pin_descriptors=1 debug_modules=1
Loadrt hm2_7i43

Looks good.

No, not easily. The scripts for building the kernel do some complicated
things, and I'm not sure how to get things to the state where you can

Peter,
I changed the parallel port mode to EPP, no difference. How does one tell
what the interface version is? It is not listed in the BIOS. The BIT files I
am using are dated 11/11/08.

Parallel _Downloading_ firmware to the 7I43 requires:

Sebastian,
Install the parport drivers how? I thought they were disabled in the rtai
kernel so they would not conflict with EMC.
The cable is a factory made cable and rings out.

The error you're getting is indicative of a low-level parallel port
communication error. You should

They are disabled, but you can force it. Try this:
1. Stop realtime
2. sudo insmod

Sebastian,
The Parport is at the normal address of 0x378. I did not do a loadrt

Bummer.
You remembered to rmmod parport_pc or reboot after that test, right?
Can you hop on IRC? I'm on #emc and #emc-devel.

That to me indicates that you have the 7I43 in USB config mode, this wont
work for EMC...
When the 7I43 is on EPP mode and first powered on, all three status lights
should be on

Do you maybe know where I can buy clamps and table accessories too?
It also seems to be non-standard.
I make most of my clamps my self, but it would be nice to know what is
