For a couple of hours now (15-16) there are strange lag spikes in my
servers. Every 5-6-7 minutes, server ( players) freeze for 1-4 seconds.
2 machine -
Confirm with me it is also so for 2 days, already have everything measured
FPS drops no, routing problems can not MTR measurement is stable, the
problems are with me at CSS and Dods.

This is either something related to masterservers or Steam itself. lets wait
and see if Valve comments on it or quietly fixes the issue as before when there
has been similiar issues, in the past.

I have probelms too. I use linux (debian 6) and CSS on a own machine. All
servers (6 gameservers) freeze for 1-10 seconds (with warning about connection
problems), but the machine works fine. The problem begin at friday 10. march

I guess that they are already looking into this issue, as this seems to have
affected a lot of servers. This also happens in L4D/L4D2, also on their own
official servers.
My problem with Valve is just that they don't acknowledge this bug/error/issue.
This has been going on for days now and it
SRCDS does not support multithreading/multicore yet, so you don't have this

A few months ago there was a TF2 update that increased CPU usage
significantly.
The temporary workaround suggested by valve was to put -threads 3 in the
commandline. I can't remember if it was a problem specific to windows or

As a customer that has bought several games from Valve, i would still like to
know that they are aware of this. Maybe they don't know how to fix it, but it
would be kind of them to inform that they are investigating this issue.

We did use CentOS for a very short time, it wasent the best(for us).
We now are using fedora core for one machine (4 cores running 2 TF2+ 1
dods).
Another machine with almost same spec. running Debian (2 dods)
All is 32-slots minimum installs with custom kernels (no x-windows

There's random lag spikes occurring when the server is full. I've assigned 5

This should be reachable from your server, check any firewalls.
If you run some fake player plugins on your server, then your IP is banned,
get a new one.

There is a synchronous call to Steam to locate the error reporting server. The
error reporting server went AWOL so the call to Steam got blocked. We are
looking into how we can avoid this in future. This call may not even be
necessary any more since we have moved to breakpad for crash

server until the server is updated.
