I found a Cattle Egret in Scott County at 11:30 Sunday morning. It was
in a wet, grassy area on the west side of Co. Rd. 18 just south of
Crossings Blvd. Take US 169 south to Co. Rd. 18 and continue south to a
stoplight by the Home Depot Store. That's Crossings Blvd. The best

Beebe Lake Regional Park east of Buffalo off of Co. Rd. 34. I walked
out into the grasses SE(?) of the paved parking lot that is furthest

I found a Tufted Titmouse in the town of Elgin in Wabasha County at about
12:30. I first heard it at the corner of W Main St and 2nd Ave NW and then saw
it at the corner of 1st NW and 1st Ave NW where there is an active feeder.

This morning there was a flock of about 100 Bohemian Waxwings feeding behind a
house at 315 W. Washington in the town of Mahnomen in Mahnomen County.
In Polk County there was an active feeder at a farm south of Erskine on US 59
that had many Common Redpolls and at least one Hoary Redpoll.

I found at least 3 or 4 Buff-breasted Sandpipers at about 6PM in a wet field on
the south side of CR 5 about 2 miles west of CR 1 in the NE corner of McLeod
County. They are a little tough to see in the weeds and there are a number of
other shorebirds there. This is the same spot where I had

Hatchery Ponds on Co. Rd. 14 west of Waterville. One of the ponds has
now been drawn down and this is where the bird was first seen. It then
flew to a tree and left the area. This appears to be a late fall date
for this species.
I finally found 2 Eurasian Collared-Doves in Montgomery in the vicinity
of the grain elevators. They flew to a wire to the west and I was able
to view them through the scope. This appears to be a first county

Henry in Le Sueur County about 3:30 this afternoon. The bird was seen
from the public boat ramp on the Co. Rd. 18 at the south end of the

sightings from some of the people there. From what I heard one would

My friend Brad Beisel and I spent the day in Scott, Dakota and Rice Counties

My wife and I went to Hyland Park early this morning and heard the chat
calling in the general area previously reported. We heard it pretty

Fedji Lake in far NE Watonwan County. I hesitate to say for sure since it

I heard at least 1 Henslow's Sparrow at each of two traditional =
locations at the Pet Trails, Murphy-Hanrehan in
I thought the light rain this morning might bring in some good birds and
it did. Here are the highlights:
Swallows: well over 100 birds including at least 1 Cliff,
1 Northern Rough-winged and several Barn
Waxwings: large flock of about 70 perched Cedar

I just returned from 2 days of birding around the MN River Valley in =
preparation for the 6th Annual
Great MN
We still need birders to help with the 6th Annual Great MN River Birding
Day both here in the metro area and outstate. If any of you would like

or as little as you like anywhere in the MN River Valley Watershed. You

Went to Ritter Farm Park in Dakota County for 3 hours in the middle of
the day. There were lots of birds including 3 Winter Wrens(2 by picnic
shelter #2 and 1 by picnic shelter #3) and 6 species of warbler.
