For those concerned about the amount of glass proposed for the new library
you should take a look at the new library under construction at Minneapolis
Community Technical College at 16th and Hennepin. The building consists of
floor to celing glass walls on two sides and is going to be stunning

cars that can use that particular street, but you miss the point that many
many more bicyclists can traverse the same street than the number of cars

I attended many of the Minneapolis Bicycle Task Force meetings a few years
ago that resulted in the banning of bicycles on the Nicollet Mall weekdays
from 6AM to 6PM. The Metro Transit bus drivers were adamant that there was
NO WAY that bus and bicycle traffic could share the Mall and avoid
