the cell height for the merged cells. The height is probably wrong
because ConTeXt uses the width of the first column (and not of all
merged cells) to determine the height.

I used the following exam format well which was set by the help of Wolfgang

Recently I got a strange output when I used \startplacetable or \placetable in
the \startcolumnset … \stopcolumnset.

This command works with your sample:
\setupparagraphs[somepars][2][align={hz, hanging}]

The only one way I discovered is to write manually \setupalign[hz,hanging]
command at the beginning of each column which is not very comfortable.
I would like to ask you whether is here some way to set it generally.
Or (better) to inherited it from the outer settings.

new page when it's larger than a column but it's also always on the left. I
would like to get it horizontally centered (on the top of the next page as it
is already). Any way to achieve that?
