I was there today and the number of redpolls was down slightly (12-13), and I definitely did not see a Hoary. In other news, I was told that the brazen meadowlark was taken by a Red-tailed Hawk this morning. I know there were more than one, but didn’t see any others. Dawn Sent from my iPhone

Sad news. Tom Ahlf, a veteran Central Park birder (and valued personal friend), passed away this week from an injury. From knowing him for many years, I would describe Tom as warm and witty. His bearing was low-key, but he was a dedicated birder who seldom tired of patrolling the walkways of the
