Well,
Got the K100d, FA50mm and DA40mm last week. So far, I've taken about
300 pictures. Here are some comments...
FA50 is great. So much better than the old M50... Truly great to have
autofocus capability in low-light situations. The old M50 was
IMPOSSIBLE to focus on the DL. Lens lookes

On the DA40, store that nice screw cap with your socks and replace it
with the cap from a Fuji filmbox, it pops right in and you won't lose
any more shots ;-)

A 30mm snap cap will fit the opening of the hood on the DA40.
I order mine from this ebay dealer. Was happy with their service

Sadly enough, various parties putting doubt on Pentax's future helps
depress sales, putting pressure on Pentax's management to complete a
merger which will of course seriously effect Pentax's future...

I have a K10D and much preferred the size and ergonomics of the ist*DS
which i assume is like the K100D. The size of the K10D actually puts me
off using it.

Hi guys,
I have been quite annoyed at all the low-light shots that I had to
delete because of slight camera shake. While I'd love to have the use
of a tripod, I A- Don't have one and B- wouldn't bring it with me if I
did, so I've decided that shake reduction is a feature worth having.

The K100D is essentially a DL with better AF, Anti-shake and somewhat
better JPEG's (Not sure exactly how much better, I never shot JPEGs when
I had the K100D).
If you want a real upgrade, get the K10D. If you just want AS, get the
K100D.

Check that link. I did a quick test of the SR on the K10D, the day i bought it.
It works very well, i think.
The pentaprisim is worth it to, AFAIC.

Alex,
My wife has a K100 and I have a K10, so I have a little experience with both.
There were several things I was looking for in a DSLR that the K100 doesn't
offer. SSM and weather sealing being the two big ones. I've also had problems
focusing manual lenses on the K100. It's much better

I would think either K body would be an improvement over the DL, though
I've never used a DL so I can't comment on the ergonomics. If it's
convenient, you should try to handle both bodies before purchase.

FWIW, the K10 batteries seem to be pretty inexpensive.
