Yes, that bag is intriguing!

But the contrast between the specific couples in the foreground and the

It’s a blood sport and like all blood sports there will be cheaters skewing
the results. The problem arises when you get people who don’t understand
that the game ends after the votes are counted winning elections. These
people may win at the polls, but they are not leaders.

gosh they look so much alike  -  I just read this :

"One way to distinguish a*golden eagle*from an*immature bald eagle*is
leg plumage. A*golden eagle's*l egs are entirely feather covered;
an*immature bald eagle's*lower legs are bare."

I can't tell from the photo if legs are bare or feathered.. but you are
with him in person so... :-)

stopped working on it...

Yum indeed. You should really make a recipe book.

I'll have to remember to take a photo of our next pear cake, on
Saturday. Been making them for weeks. Since the sanctions against
Russia in connection with the Ukraine crisis and Putin's retaliatory
boycott of, among other things, our delicious Belgian 'Conférence'
pears, they're flogged off for almost nothing in the local
supermarket. They give wonderful cakes.

I like it too. The thing that stands out for me, which subtly echoes the dog,
and reflects the posture of the woman, is the plastic bag in the doorway. The
shape created by the handle and the dark spots look like a stylised Siamese cat
with two dark ears and a nose.

I also like the other-dimensionness created by the corner and the independent
worlds, which I think is Boris's point.

Hello Boris,

I just tried a quick crop (square) leaving parts of the foreground and
viewer left out.
The result looked better with the metal cylinder (bollard) and the
beautiful dog sharing the center stage.
Then the attention is directed to the couple to the right and finally
we look at the left part.

I am sure there are far better B street shooters here on the list.
These are just my two cents.

Have a good night : )

Daniel, politics is not a game by definition. Game means rules, unless you
mean "game" as in subject of hunting. And rules means abiding by them.

Politics, and especially high level politics, thus is anything but game.

Do we really need to go on on the list?

Appreciated, Ann, Thanks!
What I was attempting to do was down size the Image to accommodate all screens.
I don't even know if anyone had a problem with the size so just in case.
Neither the image nor the message garnered even one response.

The system kept telling me the address was wrong and I assumed the message
hadn't gone.

Think I can move on now!
May dump Photo.net(?)

That looks really nice!

What it really needs is some delicious home-made Greek yoghurt. As it happens,
I made some the other day, for the first time ever. After taking this picture I
strained it for 2 hours to make it Greek, and then it was so delicious I ate it
all immediately.

Now all is need is my own flock of sheep and goats, and a Mediterranean
hillside.

Yassas!

Re: OT: To our British Pentxians

2019-01-13 Thread Bob W-PDML
Thank you. The whole business is quite fascinating, as a great historical
moment, and perhaps not as bad as it may appear from a distance. People are
getting overwrought about it all, and will wake up feeling rather sheepish and
embarrassed about it one day.

It's full of amusing little ironies. As I mentioned to someone the other day,
we have the Brexit side dismissing the economic warnings of the Remain side as
'Project Fear' while at the same time, and with no hint of irony or
self-awareness, threatening right-wing violence and civil disruption if they
don't get their way, claiming all the while that it would be undemocratic to
allow people to vote. Hmm.

OT: To our British Pentxians

2019-01-13 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
I just want to sent my sympathies and good wishes to all of you in the
tough week ahead. Take comfort in knowing that you are more likely to
survive this crisis than the US is to survive the one we are going
through. Hard to see a sensible compromise arising on either side of the
pond.

BTW, is it just me, or do others think Boris Johnson looks like Donald
Trump's brother from another mother?
