There's a reason why I'm so delighted with my 1954 Kodak Retina IIc. :)

Interesting thought, Rick! Thanks. :)

Heh … Mine is usually set to about 46". Longer than that and the camera sits
too low, swings around too much for me. :)
I have anchors fitted to most of my cameras, so I just swap the Leash to
whatever I need to use it on. (I actually have three of them, for tripods and
second camera carry…).
I looked at that project. The neat part of the base plate is that it takes the
load off the standard lugs (not designed for that kind of carry) and puts the
load at the base which allows the camera to lay flat more reliably.
It's primarily targeted to work with an SLR or largish EVF camera's

Hallo!
First "Picture Every So Often" posting of 2023 and I'm already 17 photos into
it. It was a tough holiday season and I've been a little slow getting motivated
to post.
Getting ready for my walk yesterday, I fitted the MS Optics Aporia 24mm f/2
lens to the Leica M10-M, stuck a strap on
Yes, the aperture mechanism is dirty/gummed up: the lens needs a CLA (clean,
lubricate, adjust) service. The auto-aperture actuating lever should snap back
instantly, somewhere around 10-20 milliseconds max. Half a second is almost
literally forever in terms of these mechanisms.

I'll stick with a notebook or a voice-recorder (or voice-recording app on the
phone…).
But actually, I almost never care what the settings were after the fact anyway
… I remember them most of the time without any recording or EXIF data to poke
at. :)

That sounds far more complex than my own workflow. Most everything I've posted

Similarly, it's been quite a few years since I worked with Pentax cameras. I do
still have one Pentax lens … the L39 mount version of the superb 43mm Limited

lens. I use it on my Leica cameras where it never fails to
