We switched from 2013SP1 to 2015 last fall but stepped back to 2014SP2 this winter because there were too many bugs in 2015. But now we realized that the display LUT in 2014SP2 doesn't support the full dynamic range of the region. So we are thinking to go back to 2015 just because of that.

It seems you are right, Morten. You cannot change even the angle of the camera with an override. However, if you only want to change the lens shader, there is a parameter on the pass to do this (last tab, last parameter down). You can append a camera shader or you can override it entirely.
